A few months ago I already went into the subject of headphones as fashion item. When I saw the newest headphones born from a collaboration between Skullcandy and Roc Nation I was immediately sold, just by looking at the couple of photos available.

The Roc Nation Aviator headphone is clearly retro inspired and totally drool worthy.

I was never really into Skullcandy headphones as they targeted the teenagers and fans of the rock genre in my opinion. So I never really stood still in the store and give them a second look. With the collaboration with Roc Nation they are expanding to a whole other audience and hopefully more headphones will come out of this collaboration.

If I was still hearing I would totally buy an Aviator headphone, I’m a sucker for modern gadgets with a retro look. They come in black, white and brown of which I really like the black one. The brown would do too if it wasn’t combined with gold. Plus Aviator can be folded and stored in a case, perfect for carrying around in my canvas bag with camera and books without it being damaged.

Release date is set in June, no mention of the price yet but if I must take a wild guess I would say they will cost between $200 and $300. If the headphones turn out to be of sturdy quality it’s money well spend. I will be keeping an eye out to see when they are in shops here next month.

Read more details on the product page.

Now that iPods are mainstream they don’t turn heads anymore when you walk around holding one. If you want to draw attention to yourself you can do that with striking headphones. In an era that even tech must be fashionable you need to have the right headphones. You can go with geeky/kid by getting animal earbuds, these are earbuds with animals on the outside so it looks like there are animals sticking out of your ears. There are a total of seven styles of which one is not an animal but a diamond or in other words, bling bling. I’m not sure I would want to be caught walking around

I’m not sure I would want to be caught walking around using these earbuds, I already look young for my age, these earbuds would make it more obvious.

If you also want more sound quality then you have to go with UrbanEars which are totally retro looking. The UrbanEars has a remote and microphone on it that is compatible with the iPhone and other phones. While with earbuds you can easily let a friend listen with you by sharing one of the earbuds, the UrbanEars have a “Zound plug”. This plug lets your friends plugin their own headphones into your earcap to listen along.

I like the UrbanEars more, they are simple, retro(they remind me of “That 70′s Show”) and actually functional. The animal earbuds costs 15 dollars while the UrbanEars costs 68 dollars. Whichever your preference the choices of headphone styles are endless.
It displays 15 common knots, but instead of using rope it uses various bits of iPhone cabling, including the headphones, dock and USB connectors. Are you a lucky person who has never had a pair of headphones tie themselves up in knots? It tends not to happen with more expensive headphones with slightly thicker wires, but smaller earbuds and thinner wires always seem to get caught up in themselves, no matter how carefully they’re put away. It tends not to happen with more expensive headphones with slightly thicker wires, but smaller earbuds and thinner wires always seem to get caught up in themselves, no matter how carefully they’re put away.

Ford’s point is that Bluetooth comes with every new Ford car. While this isn’t Ford’s only ad, it’s interesting that the influence of the iPod is so strong that it has deemed it worthwhile to make a point of it.

I rarely use my original iPhone buds any more, and I’ve got one of those little clips that you can wrap the wire around to stop it getting tied up. I don’t recall my cabling ever getting tied up quite as neatly or as identifiably as the pics in the ad.

It was my first time to hear about them last week, though. A colleague of mine was listening to some music on his iPod and I noticed his one of a kind head phones. The first thing that I noticed was the design – it screamed of my favorite band, Metallica. Naturally, I had to take a closer look, and I loved what I saw.

These Skull Candy headphones will not stop at the looks, however. The moment I tried it, I knew that I was hooked.

So what sets Skull Candy headphones apart? Aside from their funky look, these headphones deliver excellent sound. In fact, everything about the design is all about the perfect sound. Even if you’re listening to a track that is so heavy on bass, the headphones can take it.

There are a lot of different types of Skull Candy headphones available – you only need to check their web site for the style that would suit you. The Metallica headphones, from the Artist Lowrider Series, to be exact, is only one of them. This one costs $49.95 from the online shop but prices may vary depending on which store you go to.

Another plus about Skull Candy headphones is that they are all covered by a very good warranty policy. They have two types of coverage:

Aggressive Listening: Skullcandy products that fail or break due to a crazy crash on the mountain or a violent head-banging session… or any other reason that is not a product defect, we will still hook you up! Send in whatever remains of your product, and we will send you a coupon good for 50% off any product in our Online Shop.

Defective Product Replacement: Which is defined as any Skullcandy product that is still in one piece and not working properly or any product damaged in shipping. In this case you will receive a brand new replacement product at no charge.

I don’t think I have found any other product that has this kind of coverage, have you?
