The International Space Station is used as a hub for medical research, various space based sciences and as a means for international cooperation, it’s also a pretty cool place to Earth gaze, as was demonstrated by ISS crew member Don Pettit. Pettit took a bunch of footage from one of the stations windows that face earth and then placed those images into a time-lapse demonstration of earth. Ultima creator goes to space
Here’s one for the history books. Ultima and Tabula Rasa creator Richard Garriott AKA Lord British recently went to space aboard a Russian Soyuz TMA-13 rocket. The rocket took off at Russia’s Baikonur Cosmodrome. Garriott’s trip is directly linked to his involvement with Space Adventures, a Washington DC business that allows wealthy “tourists” take the ultimate vacation by going to the International Space Station. The company has entered into a partnership with the Russian Federation to facilitate the trips. Lest it be said that this is a junket, Garriott paid $30 million for the 12-day trip.
