But recently, when I first heard about Windows Phone 7 and saw a demo, I got very excited. That was a cool looking piece of software right there, and maybe something worth switching over. Then I heard about the drawbacks, clutched my iPhone in my arms and said, “Don’t worry baby, I’ll never get rid of you.” OK, I didn’t do that. We just spooned for a bit. Anyways, looks like Microsoft is making another spectacular blunder. Gadgetsteria is reporting that Windows Phone 7 won’t come with copy and past anymore. Why?

I’m an iPhone guy, and have been since the release of the iPhone 3G a few years back. But recently, when I first heard about Windows Phone 7 and saw a demo, I got very excited. That was a cool looking piece of software right there, and maybe something worth switching over. Then I heard about the drawbacks, clutched my iPhone in my arms and said, “Don’t worry baby, I’ll never get rid of you.”

OK, I didn’t do that. We just spooned for a bit.

Anyways, looks like Microsoft is making another spectacular blunder. Gadgetsteria is reporting that Windows Phone 7 won’t come with copy and past anymore. Why? Well, let them answer that for me.

By now everyone and their mother has heard of Microsoft’s extremely Apple-esque stance with the upcoming Windows Phone 7. On several fronts, that’s a very, very good thing. On the other hand, comments such as “People don’t use copy/paste anymore” clearly show they [Microsoft] are F*cking stupid (with a capital F no less). Getting everything to be more simplistic and user friendly. Good. Great. Awesome. That’s exactly what they need to do. But overly water down a platform that has traditionally been a power users platform…?

He’s right. Windows Phone 7 has a lot of potential to take away market share from BlackBerry, Android and Apple, but it’s got to be spectacular out of the gate and at least have the same features as every other smartphone out there.

But here’s the kicker for me: When I got my iPhone 3G, all my Windows/BlackBerry buddies would tease me for lack of copy/paste, like it was some big deal. “Microsoft would never do anything that dumb,” they’d say. Turns out, they did. And not only did they, they’re backing it up with poor logic.

Oh well. Let’s hope they change things before it gets released.

I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. It’s everywhere I look, my friends have it, my neighbors have it, my family has it, my POSTMAN has it too! Oh darn it, can’t anyone have any other phone except the iPhone? It has become an eyesore. Sure it’s pretty (liked having one before), but I see it everywhere… and it has turned to be “not pretty” anymore. Geez, it’s like a germ… it’s everywhere. It doesn’t help when competitors try to ride the design and functionality bandwagon and “try” to be an iPhone too. Hmm.. Actually that may be the key. I think they’re all planning to be iPhones,

I think they’re all planning to be iPhones, that way when everything is an “iPhone” then there is no iPhone. Reminded me of “The Incredibles” actually… when everyone’s a superhero, then no one is!

It’s a vicious iPhone Cycle… you buy the expensive phone, get hit with expensive phone plans, buy software for it, get frustrated that these are expensive too… and for what? coolness? Ah, I’d rather save up and buy something I’d need more… like a laptop… or something that will pay for itself. A better productivity tool. Yeah, the iPhone is a lesser productivity tool… IF you need a phone, get a phone… period. OR get someone to buy you an iPhone if you really want it… and let THEM pay for everything it needs.

I am not quite surprised that this webpage has come live. And there are those who feel the way I do. Take this survey from MSN to see if you NEED an iPhone to punish you this year.

I dare you to give me an iPhone and I’d blog about how I hate it more! (tongue in cheek)

A number of reports have been leaking in that the iPhone 3G is prone to overheating. One forum poster reported that he left his iPhone on his pocket when he fell asleep. He reportedly woke up with a burned leg. The guy reported that he quickly pulled out his phone and saw that a part of the plastic cover melted. The strange thing here is that the phone was not enabled to push emails and he also disabled the “blazing 3G speed” setting. One comment I’ve read said that this is prone to happen if the auto-lock function of the phone is not activated. Whatever the reason for overheating though
