Remember the new Mark V “Suitcase Suit” from Iron Man 2? Whether you saw the movie or just remember it from the trailer, now you can wear your own Suitcase Suit… while riding a motorcycle.

UD Replicas is now taking orders for this replica of the Iron Man Mark V, designed as a motorcycle suit in form-molded leather to look like the original. It comes with jacket, pants, boots, and gloves, and it will be available to pre-order until September 15th of this year. The leather work is finished in red, with a metallic pearl finish; silver accents are metallic chrome with a translucent finish. The chest “arc reactor” on the suit, as seen in the movie, glows when light hits it. It even comes with removable body armor. The gloves have anti-skid Kevlar lining the palms.

The price? A measly $1,099. UD Replicas helpfully offers a three-month payment plan for those who need to apply for a second mortgage to pay for the suit.

UD Replicas will have it on display at Comic-Con later this month, at booth #2913. Final suits will be delivered Q1 2011.

Serious geeks only (and those looking to get beaten up at the biker bar) need apply.

Ok, I can’t stand this. I need an Iron Man / Robert Downey, Jr. detox. PRONTO! Ever since I got back from watching Iron Man 2 from the movie theater, all I’ve been thinking about (mostly) is either Iron Man related or Robert Downey, Jr. related. I watched Iron Man 1 again on DVD, I’ve watched a couple of Robert Downey, Jr’s old movies, the Invincible Iron Man 2007 and I’m trying to get a copy of the complete Iron Man The Animated Series, too!

And now, I even watched Jay Leno just because I heard that Robert Downey, Jr was going to be the guest for tonight. I don’t even watch Jay Leno! But it’s ok, the 15 minute interview was well worth it, hehe!

You geek boys are probably disgusted by all my squealing right now, but the Ironette Dancers performed, too. So I guess that’s something to look forward to.

But what really prompted me to write this blog post was Robert Downey Jr’s really cool sneakers (aside from him being so hot) ! I had to google Iron Man sneakers but nothing similar to what he was wearing came up. I WANT ONE!

Fortunately, he did mention that it was sponsored by Nike so atleast I know where to look. I wonder if they made it specially just for him, or if they’ll ever sell that in the market. I seriously want it. Pair it with the cute Iron Man x Tokidoki cap and you get a geek chic outfit!

Seriously, I can’t decide whether he’s more appealing in normal clothes or in the Iron Man Suit, haha.

I just came from watching Iron Man 2 in the theater today so forgive me if I seem like a squeal-y little fan girl. I swear to the geek gods, Iron Man is SOOO COOL! (and Robert Downey, Jr. is SO HOT!) Among all the movie adaptations of Marvel, Iron Man is probably the best for me, this coming from a geek who know absolutely nothing about Iron Man, sad to say. Hardcore Iron Man fanatics might have other opinions, though.

Before you continue reading on, let me remind you that this post contains a few spoilers (SPOILER ALERT!). Just warning you, because I don’t want to be the one spoiling your Iron Man 2 fun. You were warned!

1. Opening scene, when he jumps down from the plane. I got goose bumps when he landed on his knee in the middle of the stage. Same feeling I got when I saw the scene in Iron Man 1 when he first saved that middle-eastern country, city, town (or whatever, forgot the name of the place!).

2. Iron Man suitcase / Iron Man mobile suit. OMG, I want one of THESE! Self explanatory.

3. When he squishes holograms and plays with them, hehe. I know, my description sounds a little bit dirty doesn’t it, haha. But if you watched both Iron Man movies, you know what I mean. To be able to interact with computers (I want my own JARVIS! I want one!) and data that way is just waaaay geek-gasmic. I hope to the geek gods I’d still be able to experience that technology in the near future.

4. Fight scene with Iron Man’s laser death move. Lasers and two Iron Man suits beating up Iron Man drones. If that isn’t cool, I don’t know what is. I just didn’t like how they beat the villain. They could have done a better fight ending than that. It reminded me of Care Bears, for some unknown reason.

5. Thor teaser at the end of the movie credits. Again, self explanatory! I can’t wait for the new Thor movie. I sure hope it’s going to be as good as Iron Man!

I had a serious case of Iron Man 2 hang over, that I had to watch Iron Man 1 on DVD when I got home, hehe! Aaaaaah! Iron Man 2 rocks! And again, Robert Downey, Jr. is HOT, hehe! Ok, for the geek boys, you will have your fair share of eye candy with Scarlet Johansson as the Black Widow.

Did you like the Iron Man 2 movie as much as I obviously did? And what were your favorite scenes?

Sometimes, normal people do things that just amaze me.

Chad Barraford of Brookline, Massachusetts, saw the movie Iron Man and decided that he wanted to turn the fictional Jarvis – the talking computer in charge of Tony Stark’s home, workshop and Iron Man suit – into reality. To do it, he used a combination of RFID tags, Twitter, IM programs and did it all using a Mac Mini.

The Boston Globe broke the story, but if you want some of the fun details and videos about the project itself, go to the Project Jarvis homepage. There you can see Chad’s videos of the process, as well as different fun steps along the way.

Of course, something like this seems like it would be pretty pricey to build. The Boston Globe tells a slightly different story.

Compared with much of what’s marketed as “smart home’’ technology, Jarvis is both a marvel and a bargain. He runs on a 4-year-old Mac Mini computer with built-in speech recognition — and virtually no additional bells and whistles. Barraford has calculated, down to the penny, how much he has spent on a DLA that does everything but brush his teeth. To date, the figure stands at $691.98. That includes wall speakers and an xTag wireless microphone.

I love homebrew stuff like this, and I’m pretty stoked to see that Chad made this pipe dream into reality, particularly for so low a cost.

1) Iron Man 2 (May 7th)
The first movie was a hit because it combined a superhero premise perfectly suited for the big screen with an inspired casting choice in Robert Downey Jr. It turned out to be the role Downey was born to play; is there anybody who can’t wait to see Chapter 2? A bigger budget, a badder baddie, new suits (including War Machine), Black Widow… Chance of suck: 0%.

2) Robin Hood (May 14th)
The story of England’s most famous bandit has been told. And told. And told again. What possible reason could there be for yet another interpretation? How about the reunion of power duo Russell Crowe and director Ridley Scott with another gritty, action-packed period piece — a genre the two perfected with Gladiator. Plus, Robin Hood boasts a cast of “serious” actors like Cate Blanchett (as Marion), William Hurt, Mark Strong, and many more. It looks like a sure thing.

3) Shrek Forever After (May 21st)
The third entry in the series may have been anemic, but the first two were a blast, and all indications are that this final chapter is a return to form. Time being rewritten in a shady deal with Rumpelstiltskin gives the film fertile soil for great comedic fodder — like a pampered, puffy Puss in Boots, and a leader-of-the-warrior-ogres Fiona.

4) Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (May 28th)
Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney are hoping to repeat the success of their Pirates of the Caribbean franchise with another period piece that mixes humor, action, and over-the-top special effects. Instead of a theme park ride, this time the inspiration came from a popular video game. The trailers look promising, with eye-popping visuals, and Jake Gyllenhaal looks up for the physical demands of the role, but I’m not yet sold on his accent.

5) Toy Story 3 (June 18th)
The Toy Story franchise has never been my favorite Pixar property, but it’s Pixar, and that means my butt will be in the seat. There’s something special about every movie Pixar makes; they simply don’t know how to make a bad movie.

6) Knight and Day (June 25th)
Yeah, I’m still turned off by Tom Cruise after all the couch jumping and antidepressant craziness, but I have to admit, the role of a hyper-kinetic, semi-mad secret agent seems tailor made for him. The trailers made me laugh, and Cameron Diaz looks just plucky enough to have good chemistry with Cruise. Okay, I’m in.

7) The Last Airbender (July 2nd)
I honestly don’t get all the M. Night Shyamalan hate. I really don’t. Yeah, some of his movies were a little more impressed with themselves than some fans were (The Village, The Happening), but no one can argue that the guy has a terrific imagination and he executes his ideas in uncompromising ways. Airbender is his first big-budget, effects-filled, based-on-an-existing-property blockbuster, and although I know little about the cartoon it’s based on, I’m rooting for Shyamalan to win back his viewers.

8) Inception (July 16th)
Nothing to be ashamed about here, because if you’re looking to score geek cred, you can’t do any better than the latest brainchild of director Christopher Nolan — the man behind the Christian Bale Batman films. Leonardo Di Caprio in the lead role doesn’t instill me with confidence; something about the way he enunciates words makes it hard for me to believe in him as anything but a grifter like Jack Dawson. But Nolan’s premise looks killer (something about stealing dreams), and Warner Bros. has so much faith in him after The Dark Knight, they’ve practically given him a blank check. I can’t wait to see what he does with that kind of artistic freedom.

9) The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (July 16th)
Jerry Bruckheimer, director Jon Turtletaub, and Nic Cage — the team behind National Treasure — reteam for another family-friendly adventure, this one based (very loosely) on the classic Mickey Mouse cartoon. It’s got no pretensions of being anything but a summer popcorn flick, but that’s a-okay by me.

10) Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (August 13th)
Anyone who’s seen that bat-crazy trailer knows what all the hubbub is about. Michael Cena plays a guitarist who falls madly in love with a girl who has seven ex-boyfriends. The twist is, those exes are evil villains with super-powers. So the only way Cena and his new beau can be together, is for him to defeat said villains. It sounds ludicrous on paper, but in the hands of director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), this graphic novel-turned-film is a mashup of everything that’s awesome in pop culture. Watch the trailer if you don’t believe me.

That’s my list. What’s on yours? Jonah Hex? Predators? The A-Team? Twilight:*wretch*vomit*Eclipse?
