Probably I am the only who thinks this way but the LG Wrist Watch Phone is totally retarded, although cool. Retarded because imagine being in a restaurant and speaking to your watch. WTF! Unless you’re Dick Tracey the watch/phone will make you look like a retard.

I had the awesomest watches, even a Swatch The Beep but I do not get the LG Wrist Watch Phone hype. Especially not if the rumored 1000GBP become reality.

Straight from the Department ‘Bag of Ugly’ comes this Gachapin and Mukku netbook.

Gachapin and Mukku are two popular Japanese television characters who appeared in the children’s program Hirake! Ponkiki on Fuji TV.
Considered the steady stream of comments on the Gachapin and Muttu blog these two characters seem to be rather popular in the land of the rising sun. I think they are rather frightening though, but who am I.

Now they have been made immortal in a but-ugly fluorescent green netbook (rebranded version of the Konjinsha ML6KL12F, complete with Atom 1.6Ghz CPU, Windows XP Home SP3, 1GB RAM, TV tuner, 160GB HDD and all the other usual specs).

I’m pretty sure this netbook will be rather popular in Japan, similar to the Hello Kitty netbook but I find it butt-ugly and would hide it from my kids. I might as well give them the BD of The Mist if I want to scare them for life.

When I initially saw this, I thought ‘Genius!. A lovely wooden USB stick with Post-it notes dispenser. The perfect argument to start sticking post-it notes on my laptop screen, a sure recipe for disaster.
Little later I was sitting in the little room, thinking how I could make one those myself. It’s crunchtime, DIY FTW!

Reasons for the DIY:

• 1. It’s credit crunch.
• 2. They have to come from Japan. Who else would invent this?
• 3. 2GB is ridiculous for a modern USB stick.
• 4. Making plans to DIY it would save me from having one more gadget.

And then it dwindled upon me: what a horrible design. A catasprtophe to stick in your pockets because every time you can change the pack of Post-its. Still I think that they would nicely fit in a wooden monitor. If only the Swedes made 24″ computer monitors.

Japanese tombstone maker, Ishinokoe has developed a new tombstone that will contain a scanable bar-code behind a lockable door on the tombstones, allowing family members and friends to scan them with their mobile phones.
This is a modern interpretation from the ancient Egypt belief in providing Pharaohs with their treasure for the trip in to afterlife.

The thombstones will be equipped with a barcode, which people can read with their mobile phone and then _interact_ with their beloved in scrapbook alike style, posting or viewing memories, photos from the past.

I must admit it all sounds very vague, to me at least, and possibly even boring, but imagine having a grave with a barcode and future possible usages!

I so would let people challenge my best lap times in Race Driver: Grid. They could even see how my ghost leaves them behind.
