Good gamer necklaces are hard to find. Even if you’re not picky to begin with, a lot of what’s being offered tends to be the same old repetitive charms and pendants. If you want to wear necklaces that aren’t gaudy or childish, then Boxinghobo has got you covered with these classy gamer necklaces you can wear to work and everywhere else!
Any Elder Scrolls fan will approve of the Dark Brotherhood pendant. It might not give you a direct line to the Night Mother, but it’s as close as you can get!
Mass Effect fans, choose between a Paragon necklace or a Renegade necklace.
Pokemon masters, I know you’re itching to get this one.
If you want these pendants but don’t wear jewelry, it’s available as a keychain as well. Boxinghobo has pendants for Mortal Kombat, Assassin’s Creed, and more!

Designer Paul Michaels made a concept piece of a Nintendo-inspired promise ring called the “Intendo”. With a power cord band and shiny stones in place of buttons, it’s perfect for the romantic gamer.
This is special, because you give it to a gamer you Intendo marry. ;)

Valentine’s Day is in a few short weeks and it’s time to think about what to get that special person in your life. There’s flowers, but they die. Not exactly a way to express love. There’s chocolate, but that’s unhealthy and no one wants to bite into anything featuring marshmallow by accident. For the geek in your life, here are 6 great options for you to knock the socks off the nerd in your life. [Read more…]
A comment notification in my Inbox led me to an old post that I might have otherwise forgotten: the Caffeine Molecule Necklace. Thanks to Kaya, I discovered an online jewelry shop that kicks butt; and trust me, it is not your ordinary jewelry store! Christmas is only a couple of weeks away, and here are some items that just might find their way to your shopping list – or maybe your wish list!
I am so going to have nightmares about this.
You know that traveling anatomy exhibit called Body Worlds, where you can look up close at human bodies that have been preserved (and posed) using a process called plastination? (Plastination is achieved by replacing water and fat in the body with special plastics.) My wife and I went to see the exhibit in Charlotte a few years back, which unfortunately turned out to be a bad idea since she was pregnant with our first child at the time. But that’s another story. The exhibit also appeared briefly in the movie Casino Royale.
The guy responsible for Body Worlds, Gunther von Hagens, has decided to try his hand at merchandise. And what he’s selling is jewelry made of cross-sectioned slices of things like citrus fruit, kiwi fruit, giraffe tails, and… bull penises. Also, for good measure: bull testicles. Because who wouldn’t want a pair of testes dangling from their ears?
Hagens is also selling actual human bodies and body parts that have been plastinated — but only to qualified, proven researchers, teachers, or medical scientists. (A full human body will set you back about $100,000.) Needless to say, this is stirring up quite a bit of controversy.
As for the jewelry — all of which is available to the general public — about $33 + international shipping will get you the earrings seen above. There are also necklaces, bracelets, and rings available that are made from the reproductive bull organs.
Is it fashion? Is it art? Or is it sick?
Disney believes that the look of Tron: Legacy is the future of fashion accessorizing, and is ready to make the future today. Hence, this collection of fine jewelry and couture inspired by the movie.
Disney Consumer Products has partnered with high-end designers like Rousseau, Hayden-Harnett, Rotenier and TomTom to create what they call “luxury accessories for women,” many of which are based on the look of Tron‘s female lead, Quorra (played by actress Olivia Wilde). And when I say “high-end,” I mean it: prices start at $90 and go up to $2,600.
Disney is also launching a store in November in Los Angeles that they’re calling the “Tron Pop-Up Shop.” All of the items in these new product lines will be for sale there, along with other limited-edition merchandise based on the movie.

So everything has to be related to Twitter in some way these days. TwittaBling is a company dedicated to creating jewellery based on a Twitter name or trending topic.
Create necklaces, earrings, rings, wedding bands and bracelets in sterling silver or 14k yellow and white gold with a Twitter-inspired engraving or diamond/Swarovski crystals.
Though custom-designed, each order takes only around five days to make and send, so there’s still time to create something for your Twitter-crazed geek boy or girlfriend this Valentine’s Day.
Take a look at TwittaBling’s Flickr photostream for examples of their work.
