Everyone’s favorite Sith Lord (like you were going to vote for someone else?) is now available in cuddly, cute, Hello-Kitty fashion with these new skins by Infectious. Dubbed the “pink.invader,” this skin is available in several different sticky flavors, for your lappy, iPod, iPhone, BlackBerry, or Trapper-Keeper notebook. Alright, we made that last one up, but only because our Trapper Keeper had Optimus Prime on it, and it doesn’t get much more badass than that. Designer Michael Sison worked this bad boy up for Infectious, and he’s got another cool design too,  with retro Gameboy skins for the handhelds.

Now I get it; This particular skin may not be for everybody. That’s why you can check out the site and pick out anything else you’d rather have from their hundreds of designs, or create your own. There’s even some love for the Apple fanboys and girls out there, with special skins with the trademark glowing Apple logo cut out of the design. I’ve had dibs on this one for the past few months now, and someday I’m gonna get that thing. Alternatively, you can also just design your own, and have it look like whatever you want.

I can personally attest to the wear quality of these things, too. My wife picked up one over a year ago for her iPhone 3G, and it’s been holding strong ever since with no sign of wear and tear anywhere.

According to Credant Technologies, some users are unwittingly advertising the location of their laptop to anyone with a cheap off-the-shelf handheld wireless signal detector.

Apparently one of the global hotspots for this kind of theft is Jamaica, but the crime could easily be committed anywhere else.

Something I wasn’t aware of (and is rather worrying in its own right) is that some notebook PCs can stay awake for up to 30 minutes even after the lid is shut. Quite why this is necessary (unless it’s deliberately set by the user) is a little unclear.

Anyway, the message is clear: turn your Wi-Fi off when you’re not using your laptop to reduce the risk of thieves locating and stealing it.

Dubbed the Stone Laptop Table, this thing is made of – obviously – stone, but it is not any ordinary looking stone. It actually looks like marble to me, but I am not so sure. It does have the same veiny look that marble has and it has a brownish beige hue. The table measures in at 15 3/4″ x 23 3/4″ – that’s for the flat part. It comes with triangular “risers,” which remind me of little chunks of Toblerone by the way. You can use these risers to adjust the angle of the surface to suit your preference while typing away.

I found the seller’s description actually funny as he was saying things about the risers doubling as paperweights when not in use, and so on. I don’t know why I would pay $150 (the cost of the whole thing) just to get some extra paperweights! But I have to say, while the table is quite pricey, I really like its look. Besides, it’s not everyday that you bump into someone who has a specially made stone laptop table.

It’s OK, I think I can guess what you’re thinking, because laptop cooling products are hardly the most exciting gadgets ever invented. Even that picture is boring…

Exciting: maybe not. Essential: definitely.

Enter the TDD-9000 liquid cooling pad from Nexus Technology. It’s a soft velvet blanket filled with a patented gel-like liquid that has been designed to dissipate heat passively and noiselessly.

While all of those things are very important, I find myself being hooked on a series of images in my head…My laptop gets stolen. I report it. The thief can’t wait to try using it. He goes to the nearest free WiFi hotspot, turns the laptop on, and suddenly, this booming voice (Aslan’s voice in The Chronicles of Narnia) is heard. I haven’t come up with the perfect “You’re a thief, return my laptop” line yet but can you just imagine how hilarious it would be to actually witness something like this happening?
