Residents have been able to come and make free phone calls and send text messages on the device. Perhaps this is a new way of keeping fit while communicating with people. At least no-one can complain that this phone’s keyboard is too fiddly to use for their fat fingers.

There will be a range of special events including a texting challenge and a video booth. An adjudicator from Guinness World Records confirmed that the phone would be making it into the next book.

In a world of miniaturisation, it’s funny to see such a huge working phone on display. Bit rich calling it a mobile phone though.

Anyone from Chicago been down to Pioneer Court and given it a go? It’s around until March 15.
