“Once you go MacBook, you won’t go back.”

So I took a little liberty with that expression, but who cares? I think that anyone who has worked on one of these babies knows that it is quite hard to go back to a Windows machine – hard but not impossible. Now, if you were to have a MacBook that behaved just like Optimus Prime and the rest of the gang, then turning it in would be a hideous thought at best.

Check out this video of a transforming MacBook, which I saw on YouTube today.

Truth be told, I find it rather silly. Don’t get me wrong – I like the whole idea. I actually found myself chuckling as I watched the video. That doesn’t change the fact that it is silly, though, does it? And, as much as I would want a MacBook that transformed into some other toy, I wouldn’t want to risk thousands of dollars flying out of that window, would you?

…why not grab some pink gadgets this month and join a worthy cause? I know I keep saying that I do not like the color pink, but for some reason, I keep running across this color. If you do not know yet, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it is usually commemorated with the color pink.

Even gadget manufacturers go out of their way to further the cause (of course, we know that money is still somehow involved in all this), and come up with special edition pink versions of their products. I wouldn’t recommend going as far as buying a pink laptop if you are not really into pink (confession: I DID buy a pink MSI Wind because I wanted the netbook and it was not available in any other color.) Here are some things that I would recommend, though, if only to show your support.

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 – Dragon Fruit Pink

Considering that shade of pink of this mouse, I can see myself buying one . Even better, Microsoft has declared that 10% of the sales will go to Susan G. Komen for Cure, the world’s largest grass root network of survivors and activists fighting to end Breast Cancer. You can buy this on Amazon for $16.25.

Pink iPod Nano

The new generation of iPods has been released, and pink is one of the colors for the Nano!

Pink Hardshell Case for the 13″ MacBook

This hardshell case can be used on the white MacBook (not the unibody one) and costs $50. Click on the link above to purchase one. It does not say if any portion of the proceeds will go to any organization doing breast cancer work, but if you do love pink…

So, would you go for pink gadgets this month? If not, just visit the web site of the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and see how you can help.

Everyone’s favorite Sith Lord (like you were going to vote for someone else?) is now available in cuddly, cute, Hello-Kitty fashion with these new skins by Infectious. Dubbed the “pink.invader,” this skin is available in several different sticky flavors, for your lappy, iPod, iPhone, BlackBerry, or Trapper-Keeper notebook. Alright, we made that last one up, but only because our Trapper Keeper had Optimus Prime on it, and it doesn’t get much more badass than that.
Now I get it; This particular skin may not be for everybody. That’s why you can check out the site and pick out anything else you’d rather have from their hundreds of designs, or create your own. There’s even some love for the Apple fanboys and girls out there, with special skins with the trademark glowing Apple logo cut out of the design. I’ve had dibs on this one for the past few months now, and someday I’m gonna get that thing. Alternatively, you can also just design your own, and have it look like whatever you want.

I can personally attest to the wear quality of these things, too. My wife picked up one over a year ago for her iPhone 3G, and it’s been holding strong ever since with no sign of wear and tear anywhere.

On an unrelated note, I wonder if the boss will let me out early today. I have an important appointment up at 59th Street…
