If Pink Is Your Color…

If Pink Is Your Color…

…why not grab some pink gadgets this month and join a worthy cause? I know I keep saying that I do not like the color pink, but for some reason, I keep running across this color. If you do not know yet, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it is usually commemorated with the color pink. Even gadget manufacturers go out of their way to further the cause (of course, we know that money is still somehow involved in all this), and come up with special edition pink versions of their products. I wouldn’t recommend going as far as buying a pink laptop if you are not really into Read more »

I Guess Marvel Will License Anything: Wolverine Mouse and Keyboard

I Guess Marvel Will License Anything: Wolverine Mouse and Keyboard

A few days ago, I brought you the glory that is the Marvel HD television lineup. That was exciting, right? I mean, who wouldn’t want a television with their favorite character printed on it? Oh wait, you wouldn’t? Well then sir or madam, I do not want to be your friend. But now there’s more. Urban Collector has just introduced Marvel and Star Trek keyboards and mice for the masses. That’s right, now you can get your very own keyboard and/or mouse with Wolverine, Iron Man or the U.S.S. Enterprise printed right across the face. Excited yet? No? Seriously, you’re being kind of a jerk. Admittedly, these are a little Read more »

3M Ergonomic Mouse looks odd but cuts RSI

3M Ergonomic Mouse looks odd but cuts RSI

The new Ergonomic Mouse from 3M may look like a joystick (or possibly something else, depending on how your mind works) and indeed it’s a tad odd for a mouse. However, it does tackle quite a serious issue for heavy computer users: Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). RSI, which is a terrible condition, is alleviated by the user taking a vertical grip on the central column. This keeps the wrist locked and thus reduces pressure on the median nerve. Think of how you held a joystick in your 8-bit gaming days, and then think about how you move a mouse around, and that’s pretty much how you control this thing. Sounds Read more »

Washable Mice (Mouses?)

Washable Mice (Mouses?)

So which is it? How do you pluralize “mouse,” the peripheral that you attach to your computer? I cannot count the number of times that this argument has come up at the office. In a room full of English teachers, you can just imagine the kind of debate that happens. Anyhow, either form is acceptable – mouses or mice, whatever you wish to use. I prefer mice for no particular reason. Read more »

The Golf-club shaped mouse

The Golf-club shaped mouse

Do you need to impress your boss? Well if he’s an avid fan of golf then you may have a slim chance of putting a little smile on the boss’ face. Giving him this gift doesn’t even need to be for an occasion. You could casually slip it in and say, “hey, I noticed your mouse is a little too worn out, I took the liberty of getting you a new one!”. You’d be surprised that it’s affordable, unlike most golf novelty items. At US$19.95 right here, could this be any better? The downside… it seems like there is only a PS2 version available… ouch! You’d think they’d upgrade it Read more »

Sharkoon Rush FireGlider

Sharkoon Rush FireGlider

This is a handsome creature now is it? :) I know you’d get several raves when you flash this mouse out in a network gaming arena. A great knight is as great only as his sword. Remember King Arthur? If he didn’t have Excalibur, I’m not sure he would have been King Arthur… just.. umm… Arthur. Anyway, you know what I mean. Flash this mouse out and you’d get people looking in awe that a gaming master is in the house, man! Just for the visual appeal and the buttons… THE BUTTONS… 6 in all. Oh man, that alone will make the standard gamer dizzy! Sharkoon has expanded its Rush Read more »

Microsoft cottons on to laptop popularity, launching notebook cooling base and portable mice

Microsoft cottons on to laptop popularity, launching notebook cooling base and portable mice

It seems that Microsoft has woken up to the fact that notebook computers are very popular and are actually outselling desktops, and that means… a new product or two. Yes, despite the fact that other manufacturers have been doing this kind of thing for years, Microsoft has decided that it should launch a notebook cooling base. And yes, that’s what it’s called. No passivity here, mind, as the unit features a built-in fan and efficient cooling channel. It can be used on desks and laps and is angled for a more optimal typing angle, yet is only 1.16 inches think. As with most other similar stands, it’s USB powered, and Read more »
