What is it about Pac-Man that’s allowed the character (and his four enemies) to transcend from video game avatar to pop culture icon? I mean, what do we even know about the guy? He’s round, he’s got a mouth that’s disproportionate to the rest of his body, and he’s hungry round-the-clock. That could describe a lot of people. Yet something about this yellow sphere inspires all sorts of weird stuff.
