Looking For A Pet? Why Don't You Keep An AT-AT?

Many people keep animals as pet but what’s fun about animals? Ok, they can be cute and are so much better with lightsabers but let’s be honest… animals are animals, right?

We would maybe make an exception for BigFoot or Alf but other than that, no pet animals are not the real deal. And so thinks Nick Drummond whose pictures of his preferred pet animal we gladly stole for this post.

Why? Because ~~we can~~ he keeps an AT-AT that’s why. And if you don’t think that rocks, well then maybe you shouldn’t be reading frankylicio.us.

R2 Fish Training School

Do you love to watch your fish swim around in their tank? I sure do! For some reason, just sitting there and staring at my fish makes me feel relaxed. Most of the time, this works to clear my mind and get me ready to face whatever I have to face – like tons of work perhaps? There are times, however, when the fish seem boring compared to other pets like dogs and cats. This is especially true when I see how those other animals can be taught to perform tricks.

With this training kit, you can teach your fish to do ultra cool tricks like play football, soccer, limbo, and a host of other things. This is no trick – well at least the guys at Think Geek say so. The video they show is awesome, and apparently everything was done using the trainer.

The Canine Pedometer

This is both cute and useful. I thought pedometers are only for humans but as it turns out we have a version for dogs to. Japanese inventor Takara Tomy has announced a dog pedometer that helps you take note and manage the amount of exercise your canine pals make in a day. They need the exercise too so they remain a strong and healthy companion.

The dog pedometer is designed to be used all day so as to measure each doggie step. It records the data on a mini computer attached near the dog’s collar. Don’t worry, it’s no bigger than a deck of playing cards. Your pets may not even tell it’s attached to them.

Unlike pedometers for humans this one can monitor movement of four legs and has a small sensor which nullifies the shaking and nodding of the dog. There is no word on pricing yet, but there are speculations that it may be no more than US$55.
