New Star Discovered: It's Fricken' Huge And Proves Somes Scientists Wrong

A few weeks ago I reported that Protons may be smaller than originally thought , today I’m wondering if scientists are just sitting around kicking themselves at the moment as it has been discovered that stars can in fact grow more than 150 times the size of our own sun, the “upper limit” estimate originally believed possible by much of the scientific community. The new star is around 2 times as big as that “upper limit.” The newly discovered massive star called Star R136a1 is gigantic (to put it lightly), just look at the comparison chart shown above, the really big sun we can only see a small part of, Read more »

Titan's Atmosphere, A Place Where Life Could Thrive [Scientific Test]

Forget moving to Saturn for a lifestyle change, if you’re smart you’ll try Titan, one of the giant planet’s satellites. Apparently the atmosphere on Titan is nearly perfect for creating life or so says a recent experimental study in which the moon is bombarded with nitrogen-rich atmosphere and then UV rays which in turn can produce organic molecules that form the basis for life. So how in the world did researchers attempt to recreate the planet’s atmosphere? Apparently they placed nitrogen and methane (two of the most commonly found substances on Titan) into a stainless steel container and then subjected them to constant UV rays. Read more »
