They come in four different flavors: 500GB, 640GB, 750GB, and 1TB, all for under $200. These are USB 2.0 drives, with no eSata or Firewire options. Right now the suggested list prices start at $119.99 for the 500, and move up to $199 for the 1TB, but Toshiba Direct has the 1TB now for $189, thanks to a $10 instant-savings deal.
Got a storage problem? I know I do. That’s why when I first head about these new portable hard drives by Toshiba, I got a little excited. If black isn’t your thing, they also come in silver, blue, green and red, so you’ve got some options there as well.

This isn’t the cheapest drive on the market, though. Western Digital has a 1TB model up on NewEgg for $149, and it comes with a free case. They also have a Seagate FreeAgent model for $149 and it comes with a dock and a case. My theory is that once these things hit the streets that the Toshiba will come down in price, but that’s never a guarantee. Frankly, for the difference you could step up to a bigger model instead, assuming you’re OK with a larger footprint for the device.

Take a look at S&J’s new “Eggy” speaker. We can easily see why it has the name, and it’s not far off the size of a chicken’s egg either, because it can fit into the palm of your hand.

Unscrew the two halves of the egg and you have two speakers complete with their own mini stands.

The units are driven from micro-mini 20mm units and feature a digital amplifier powering two watts of output per channel. Available in white and baby shades of blue and pink, because we know how important cutesy colours are.

If you want some music on the move, the “Bike Speaker” does exactly what its name suggests. Safer than wearing headphones while cycling, the speaker is based on the same technology as the Eggy and can be mounted on the handlebars. Additionally, the unit features an FM radio, watch and stopwatch.

The units will be shown off at this year’s CeBIT show in Hanover, Germany.

Let’s just say that I have always been a frustrated musician, and with Guitar Hero and Rock Band giving people like me the chance to play at being a band member, I just couldn’t pass up the chance. Unfortunately for me, our PlayStation 3 broke down in the first few weeks of this year. As you can imagine, I have been yearning to play Guitar Hero for months now.

Thanks to this cool little gadget, I just might have an alternative, however poor it might be. Enter the Pocket Guitar Hero Electronic Game.

I discovered it at Gadgets.co.uk, and while I am pretty sure it will not measure up to the experience of playing the game on the PS3, I really have no choice right now do I? This tiny little thing has 3 levels of difficulty, 5 levels of volume, and it can actually give you a cool experience. The idea is to beat all the levels. If you think that with only 3 levels, it should be pretty easy to do, think again. Before you can advance to the next level, you have to beat 3 riffs in each level.

As for the songs, there are 10 songs from the first two Guitar Hero games. Some of the most popular include Cherry Pie by Warrant and Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana. This portable Guitar Hero game will set you back by 14.95GBP.

No passivity here, mind, as the unit features a built-in fan and efficient cooling channel. It can be used on desks and laps and is angled for a more optimal typing angle, yet is only 1.16 inches think. As with most other similar stands, it’s USB powered, and it will come in white or black.

Special in that it offers a variety of new colours: frost white, eggplant purple, deep olive green and marine blue, in fact.

The mouse can be be folded down by almost half so it’s easier to use while on the move and when it’s flipped shut it turns off its power.

More colours are also coming to the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000: Blue sapphire, red garnet, pink topaz, green emerald and purple amethyst. I can tell you’re excited.

The notebook stand will arrive in July for around $29.95. The Arc Mouse SE is available this month for around $49.95, as is the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 ($29.95).
