‘Assassin’, ‘Persia’ Director Moves to THQ

Just days after word leaked that Guillermo del Toro is working with THQ on a number of new game IPs comes this shocker: Patrice Désilets, the man behind the Prince of Persia and Assassin’s Creed games has signed on with THQ as well. Désilets is best known for his super-successful work with Ubisoft Montreal on those two bestselling game franchises. At THQ, he’s similarly expected to create and develop an entirely new game franchise, but just what that franchise will be is entirely unknown. But what I do care about is the new series of Legos based on the movie, and now they’re available at Toys R Us. Read more »

The Prince of Persia series is probably the best action-platformer franchise I’ve played. I dare say, it is even miles better than the Tomb Raider series. It ‘s no wonder that it only took a few years before a Prince of Persia movie was developed. Pictured above is Jake Gyllenhall as the titular Prince during the production of the POP movie. The action adventure movie is set for release reportedly in 2010. Gyllenhall looks buff and really looks good as the main character, but then who cares about him when Reese Witherspoon is in the picture. Read more »
