First Playstation 1 emulator for PSP released

Yoshihiro (yes, that Yoshihiro) has release the first Beta of his Playstation One emulator. Though it’s far from playable in most games, it’s rendering the graphics pretty well and some 2D games have been reported to be at an almost playable rate. You can grab the emulator from PSP Spot, however, you’ll have to search for the Playstation One’s firmware SCH1001 somewhere else since it’s illegal to host it. Official PSOne emulator for PSP announced

The President of Sony Computer entertainment, Ken Kutaragi, has recently announced that an official PSOne emulator will be released for Sony’s great portable console and users will be able to acquire them legally through an online platform of some sort. However, there is yet no information on whether you will be able to pass your PS1 games directly to PSP. With this measure (if it’s not too late), the PSP could very well enter a turning point and expand it’s game library by the thousands.
