Take the latest announcement: that of the first Rugged eSATA hard drive. LaCie is keen to point out the cost savings of getting an eSATA hard drive over an equivalent eSATA SSD. Given how reliable hard drives generally are now (unless you are extremely unlucky) and the rugged nature of this drive — something LaCie does well — it’s a factor worth considering. How many thumb drives have you bought so far? I’ve got a couple of them and I would say that this tiny portable storage devices definitely come in handy for bringing along important files wherever I go. Tigatron USB flash drive: storage (kinda) in disguise
Do you need a Transformers fix and the ability to store 2GB of data in one go? If so, the not-so-compact Transforming Tigatron Flash Drive is for you. I’m not convinced it looks a whole lot like the original Tigatron, but there you go. It’s not arriving until September, and will set you back around $50. Moon Jar: Solar powered LED lighting
