Beat Boxing has never really been able to hold my interest, but it’s hard to deny true talent when I see it and this Super Mario Brothers beat boxer takes a beloved classic and peppers it with some pretty cool beats.

It’s one thing to go “do do..do do do do do..do do do do do…do do do do” it’s a whole other beast when you take that beat, mix it over the rest of the games sound effects and you do it all at the same time with only one instrument…your body!

Check out the video:

If you say he’s off a little bit off-tune, I want you to try something for me, beat box with your mouth, while keeping the melody with your nose, if you don’t blow snot all over your self or die from a lack of oxygen I’ll concede he’s no good at what he does.

I’m most impressed with his ability to handle so many sound effects with what appears to be a whole lot of ease, half the time I can’t remember the games songs found in the game, let alone all the little noises they’re composed of. What do you think?

Super Mario fans, rejoice! You can now have your very own 1UP mushroom right on your desk. No need to play the game anymore hoping and wishing that the powers that be in Marioland will send a 1UP mushroom right down your way. With this officially licensed Nintendo collectible, you can grow your own 1UP mushroom and power up yourself.

The 1UP mushroom comes with a pot in the form of a green sewer pipe. All that you need to do to display this collectible is get some potting soil (just a tad) and put it inside the pot. You can then prop up your 1UP mushroom for all the world to see. Where to get soil? Let’s see… go to the nearest garden center and buy some. You might have to throw away the rest of the bag though, as you only need a little bit of it – unless you order like 50 of these babies. A cheaper and more practical alternative would be to go to your yard and get some. If you don’t have one, go to your neighbors yard; heck, you can even find any plot of land in the city jungle and get a scoop!

Our friends from Think Geek alerted me to this, and for a discounted price of $5.99, you can get your hands on one!

You might not be able to stir fry this mushroom but you will certainly be the envy of your Super Mario fan colleagues!

Smash Bros is probably the only famous Nintendo video-game franchise I’ve never had the pleasure of owning. I’ve played it a couple of times before, the action is “crazy” and it takes little more than random button mashing to achieve good, or decent, results. In that aspect Smash Bros is no different from most other beat-em-ups.

This week Yatzee, who is possibly the world’s funniest game reviewer, decided to pick up the latest version of Brawl and review it, giving a lot of focus to the multiplayer part, which, should be the most important part of this game, but ends up being not as fun when they realize they had to previously unlock a lot of the game content.

Personally I don’t think that the game is bad, but there are some really wrong aspects about some multiplayer games, like this one, which Yatzee bluntly put out. Still, I think he could have mentioned the soundtrack, which is probably the most varied one yet (in terms of different musicians) and is what I was looking to forward to hear, or hear about.
