The Avengershas been chosen by our very own Robin Parrish as one of the ForeverGeek must-see movies of 2012. I will not be surprised if it is not on your list as well! The release of the movie is not till May, though, and if you are lacking in patience, then you might want to find something else to distract you till then. How about going costume shopping? Sure, Halloween is even further away than the release of The Avengers, but I am willing to bet that, between then and now, you will have at least one good excuse reason to wear a costume. Based on this leaked in-game footage, it looks like a studio owned by THQ was hip-deep in development on a video game tie-in to next summer’s The Avengers movie. But the game has been seemingly canceled since THQ shuttered the studio last month. Sad news made all the sadder once you watch the awesomeness on display in the video. Read more »

So we’re going to see The Avengers next year, and as can be expected, we are bound to see all sorts of promos and gimmicks related to the movie. As early as now, Hot Toys has announced something that will delight any toy collector. Even I, who cannot be called one, am rather excited about the toys. Take a look. Straight out of the Licensing International Expo happening right now in Las Vegas, and courtesy of an eagle-eyed Twitterer, comes this first look at Marvel and Joss Whedon’s big-screen Avengers. The poster is a stylized digital creation, not an actual photo. It’s not even an actual movie poster. It’s an image being used by Marvel to introduce licensees to the property; it’s like the artwork you might see on the cardboard cards that accompany toys based on the movie.
