Regardless, there’s little doubt in the minds of most Doctor Who fans (particularly younger ones) that David Tennant has been one of the most popular Time Lords in the history of the cult sci-fi show.
Even better, how about a Tom Baker, Jon Pertwee or William Hartnell? Those were the glory days.

I don’t know what TV ads are doing Stateside (or elsewhere) at present, but in the UK there’s a resurgence of ads from the 1970s and ’80s. I think it’s probably because the kids who grew up with these adverts are now in nostalgic mode and have kids of their own.

Narrated by the late, great British comedian Tommy Cooper, it shows off the versatility of LEGO (assuming you have a lot of it) in a humorous way, with various LEGO creatures and objects pitting themselves against each other.

This is from the days when you really built your own stuff from LEGO, and the kits even had suggestions for making up your own models, rather than blindly following a formula.

The days before LEGOland when you went to conference centres hosting what felt like almost impromptu exhibitions, with people showing off humungous models, some animated, and you could play amongst huge piles of the multicoloured plastic bricks.

Great stuff.

As with my non-trekkie meerkats, hind legs and tails are wired with pipe cleaners to allow them to self stand.

They’re unbelievably inexpensive, too, with the first one being £2 (about $3) and then others ordered at the same time just £1 (about 70 cents). I’d charge more, but there you go. They can even be knitted to request, including other key characters.

The Enterprise isn’t included, though.

No one wants to drink cold stale coffee, what we want is a visual way to note if the beverage in front of us is warm or steamy hot for the overnight projects. Oh believe you me when I say caffeine IS A MUST when a deadline looms and every last ounce of adrenalin is needed to pull it through.

It’s a little “steeply” priced for a mug at US$25 so might as well put this in as a project expense that helps out the team? Not sure about that, but worth a try! Check this product out here or right here. I hope they develop colored versions like RED for HOT and WHITE for COLD. I think black and white may be too bland. But anyway.

Here’s another mug of the same design and concept… but this time it toggles ON and OFF.
