33 Untooned Cartoon Characters
I’m sure you’ve seen those awesome “untooned” images, where some talented digital artist created a photo-realistic version of a famous cartoon character, depicting what they would look like if they existed in real life. Here’s a collection of the very best of the best. Read more »
Pop Those Claws
Right up there with flying, or maybe wallcrawling, there may be no other superpower that fans covet more than Wolverine‘s claws. Cosplayers love to wear fake claws, but they can’t actually pop them the way that Logan does. There have been fans who’ve managed to make fake claws that expand and retract, but this has always required a switch or lever, which undoubtedly dilutes the experience. Even Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine in the movies and uses the highest-quality faux-adamantium claws money can buy, has no idea what it feels like to make those claws pop out — his Hollywood prop claws are real enough, but when they pop on screen, it’s Read more »
Wolverine Vs. The Hand
If you have found yourself whining about the quality of homemade videos in the recent months, here is something that might give you hope. Commercial/video director Gary Shore created his own X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 trailer, and it certainly might be the best fan-made video for the movie out there. Granted, Shore does “this thing” for a living, but still his idea of creating his own story board is nothing but ace. The actual video – from the graphics to the haunting music to the putting together of all the elements – will captivate you. Even my 2-day-old nephew stopped his wailing when I put the video on! Darren Aronofsky Could Possibly Direct Wolverine 2 [Rumor]
Darren Aronofsky can take boring topics, such as math (Pi) and turn them into genius works of cinematography, he’s also capable of taking characters on a journey into themselves, revealing their flaws, while humanizing their struggles (Requiem for a Dream). Now give him Wolverine and we might have the most twisted, revealing study in comic book characters ever created for the big screen. According to Deadline: On the X-Men: Wolverine 2 front, 20th Century Fox is between David Slade and Darren Aronofsky, I’m told. Slade, who just directed the summer hit The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, met over the weekend with Hugh Jackman on location where he is shooting Real Steel Read more »
I Guess Marvel Will License Anything: Wolverine Mouse and Keyboard
A few days ago, I brought you the glory that is the Marvel HD television lineup. That was exciting, right? I mean, who wouldn’t want a television with their favorite character printed on it? Oh wait, you wouldn’t? Well then sir or madam, I do not want to be your friend. But now there’s more. Urban Collector has just introduced Marvel and Star Trek keyboards and mice for the masses. That’s right, now you can get your very own keyboard and/or mouse with Wolverine, Iron Man or the U.S.S. Enterprise printed right across the face. Excited yet? No? Seriously, you’re being kind of a jerk. Admittedly, these are a little Read more »
Wolverine 2 – Japan Bound
Alright, I’m just going to come out and say it. I didn’t like any of the X-Men movies, nor did I like Wolverine. I thought they were all quivering piles of dog poo, festering in the stink of bad directing and horrible plot lines. Let me explain. I grew up with the X-Men. Chris Claremont and John Byrne were my heroes back in the day, which eventually led to Jim Lee and others taking over the realm. I loved the storylines, the mythos, and the general concept. Here was this group of misfits, who didn’t fit in anywhere, and they were really awesome. The Genosha storyline rocked, the Dark Phoenix Read more »
