2 Fan Films You MUST See

Fans of two of the biggest gaming franchises around — Half-Life and Fallout — have produced some mighty impressive fan films, and I giddily present them to you today for your viewing enjoyment.

Trust me: both short films are worth your valuable time, featuring impressive visual effects, violence galore, slavish devotion to their source material, and smart storytelling. The fact that both films are set in dystopian versions of Earth is entirely coincidental.

First up: Beyond Black Mesa, based on Half-Life 2, is created by amateur filmmakers Brian Curtin and Matthew Hall, who shot the movie for $1,200 and took two years to complete.

For our second (and much longer) feature presentation, I give you Fallout: Nuka Break, by filmmaker Vincent Talenti.

Which one’s your favorite?
