5 Things We Need To Worry About On This Season of The Walking Dead

If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead comic you watch the show with a lump in your throat because you know of terrible things that MAY happen but have not happened yet. Thing is, when certain key characters are introduced from the comic into the AMC show, there are some things you can bet on. Like when we met The Governor on Walking Dead, comic fans KNEW he was bad news, but people watching the show had no idea until he revealed himself (and his awesome zombie heads fish tank collection). Well, some announcements have been made about the rest of this season, and we fans of the comic know stuff is about to get really dark on The Walking Dead. The darkest it’s been yet, to be honest.

Here are 5 things we need to worry about in this season of The Walking Dead.

The Wolves

The best part of the barbaric Wolves is we still know so very little. For those who cannot recall, the Wolves are the humans who paint W’s on their foreheads in blood and murder everyone with old-school weapons like axes and blades to “free them from this world.” They rushed Alexandria this last season ad left much blood in their wake. And Teenage Mutant Ninja Morgan kept one, and we know that will result in something awful.

He also let one grab a gun as he ran. God I want punch Morgan and his peaceful ways right in the face sometimes.

The Weird Girl, Enid

Okay, this might be a slight spoiler for the comic (and maybe the show but I do not know) but the first girl Carl really ended up digging on in the comic book also had this really weird habit of, um, wearing the skin of the dead people and pretending to live among the walkers. Now I am not saying Enid IS this girl.

But I am saying she is showing signs of being insane and this would not be a surprising twist at all. They are called Whisperers and they are freaky as hell.  Though I think we still may have to wait a season or two for this reveal until they reveal more…..

New Communities

They have announced some major characters from this different communities WILL be introduced on the show. This means, if my calculations are correct, there are going to be 3-4 communities (including whoever the Wolves are with, which may be answered next on the list). The way the comic started going once there were more communities was the idea that humans could not co-exist with one another in this world.

Which means, well, more communities means more of a threat on your own. This may come to head, but more on that in the final entry.

Negan and Lucille

Just say the name Negan to any fan of the Walking Dead comic and you will see them shudder. We all thought the Governor was the worst we had faced (trust me, what he did in comic was FAR worse than show, as was his death), and the Governor was Mickey fucking Mouse next to this guy.

We all KNOW Negan is in this new season (played by the brilliant Jeffrey Dean Morgan who played the Comedian in Watchmen film) and the actor has said “I was born with a baseball bat in my hand”, which eludes to the fact that Lucille, his barbwire baseball bat will be taking some lives.

Keep in mind, Negan WILL kill at least one character we love, and if they stick to the comic, it is going to ruin some fans.

War is Coming

The best part, though, and something I did not see coming as a fan is, it looks like they are heading to the “All Out War” story line from the books. For those who have not read them, that is when all hell breaks loose and most of the human communities (including Alexandria) get into war (with one another). I wont post any major spoilers about who lives or what teams side up with whom, but I will tell you, it is one helluva story and changes EVERYTHING about the Walking Dead universe.

As you have seen over the seasons, the walkers have become less and less of an issue and humans and their own sanity has become more and more of an issue. If all goes as expected, this will be the darkest, most unforgiving season of Walking Dead yet. Just wait until Negan lines all your favorite cast members up and gets his bat ready. In that moment you will know exactly what I am talking about…..
