Wanna Know How I Got These Scars: 7 Best Villains From Geek Movies
You have to admit, the villains from geek movies are often more memorable then the good guys. I know that sounds odd, but hear me out. You are standing outside at a new school the first day, and there are two cliques of kids. You see the “Luke Skywalker” kids, and they all have shaggy hair and look kinda dopey and safe. Then, you look over to the other group, and it is the “Darth Vader” kids. Donned in all black, with menacing scowls and the ability to pretend choke you just by lifting their hand. Which group do you become friends with? The “Darth Vader” kids, and this proves my point. The villains from geek movies are often the best thing about said movies. And considering I already talked about him, might as well start with the Granddaddy of them all….
Darth Vader from Star Wars
I mean, come on! Do I even need to say anything about this entry? What can I say about this baddie that has not already been said by millions of fanboys before me? He set the foundation for all badass bad guys forever. Seriously, that is all.
Gollum from LOTR
I know you all wanna smack me and say Sauron, but I do not agree with that. The real battle raged in LOTR is raged within Frodo, and a great deal of his turmoil comes from Gollum tormenting him. Come to think of it, Gollum was a lot like my last girlfriend. Always asking for a ring and slowly driving me out of my f*cking mind.
But seriously, if you wanna know this character’s impact, just look at how many damn people can do impressions of him. That says it all.
Voldemort from Harry Potter Series
Listen, nowhere on this list does it say that you have to have a nose to make the list. The truth is, as awful and evil and vile a person as he was, he was charismatic and seductive as shit. Much like all the great villains from geek movies, the big V has an air of sophistication and charm about him that one often thinks the devil would have if you were ever unlucky enough to meet him in real life.
Also, keep in mind, doesn’t hurt that the man playing Voldemort is one of the greatest actors alive right now. Just weird he had spells to bring back the dead and shit, but couldn’t AbraCadabra a f*cking nose for himself.
Roy Batty from Blade Runner
All I have to do is paraphrase his final (improvised) speech to show you just how f*cking badass this dude was. From the deep stare he would give, to the way he seemed human AND inhuman at once, Roy Batty is not only one of the greatest villains from geek movies. He is one of the greatest movie villians of all time.
I’ve… seen things you people wouldn’t believe… Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those… moments… will be lost in time, like [chokes up] tears… in… rain. Time… to die…
Yes, that wins.
(ORIGINAL) Khan from Star Trek 3: The Wrath of Khan
I don’t hate Benderherdick Banghersnatch at all. I think he is a good actor, actually. But his Star Trek Khan was a joke when compared the original. Ricardo Montalban’s performance in this original film is cheesy and campy and WHOLLY unforgettable. Yes, the open shirt thing was a little much, but that worked with Khan’s charm.
He seemed most likely to be the bad guy who would also bang your mom. How can that NOT stick with you forever?
Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight
Do you realize that Heath Ledger marks an incredible first in history? Do you realize that Heath Ledger was the first REAL person ever killed by a fictitious character? Do you realize that THE F*CKING JOKER KILLED HEATH LEDGER? I am just going to walk away for a second and leave you to think about this.
Okay, I am back.
Did you process that? This dude’s performance as The Joker was SO GOOD, he took the character’s flaws home with him and it ended up taking his life. The Joker has killed an actual, living person. That, my friends, not only makes it one him one of the best villains from geek movies, but it also makes this list (and his performance) give me goosebumps.
