Almost For Real Disney Characters
Disney has always been a source of inspiration for various artists. Whether they draw, paint, write, or make movies, artists can find a lot of angles to work on. And of course, doing something to bring the fictional characters into real life is something that has been done over and over again.
So why write about it? Because Jirka Väätäinen ((Gallery)) has done such a jaw-dropping job of drawing some Disney characters. Jirka’s work is no ordinary depiction. Quite far from it. The idea was to draw them as they would appear if they were for real. The title of the gallery says it all: “Envisioning Disney Characters in Real Life”.
No need to tell you who this pretty girl is supposed to be, right?
I don’t know about you but the Jirka’s depiction makes Ariel prettier than the cartoon version, and I just love the way the hair is drawn.
This one’s an image of Ariel’s nemesis, the sea witch Ursula.
It’s just as brilliant as the drawing of Ariel, although I wonder how it would have turned out had Jirka drawn the tentacles as well?
Now I am not 100% sure about this next drawing, but I am willing to bet it is Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
I think the best thing about this drawing is the expression on her face. I think she looks rather irritated. What’s your take?
This last one, I can’t figure out.
I think it might be Jasmine, but I really am not sure. Can someone help?
In any case, don’t you think that these pictures are wonderfully rendered? I am crossing my fingers that Jirka will go back to the drawing board and feature other characters in the future. The near future.
