There’s no better way to beat the summer heat of Las Vegas than by spending all weekend inside an air conditioned convention center. And there’s no better way to spend a weekend inside a convention center than attending Amazing Las Vegas Comic-Con 2019.
For those lucky enough to make it to sin city to maybe pick up a trade paperback of Frank Miller’s “Sin City” (maybe YOU’D do that), they may have found a lot more waiting for them in the north hall of the massive Las Vegas Convention Center. Beyond the aisles stacked with boxes of rare comics and collectibles, the main stage played host to stars like Asher Angel from the hit film Shazam, Alan Tudyk of Firefly, Star Wars, and Aladdin, and Rob Liefeld, co-creator of Deadpool, Cable, and X-Force.
At the other end of the hall, George Perez, Jim Starlin, Joe Rubinstein, and Ron Lim, the men who first crafted the story of Thanos’s pursuit of the Infinity Gauntlet (which inspired a few movies you might have heard of) were signing their epic saga for the fans among other of their classic works.
In between all of that over the 3 day event, you had lots of excited fans spending money and cosplayers showing off their fashion chops. Of course, being the most visual part of any convention, big or small, we have to show you some of our favorites from last week. Here’s just a sampling:
I didn’t get to spend nearly enough time there as I had liked, but it’s always great to return to Las Vegas to combine my “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” fun and my “buy all the comics I can find” madness in one trip. Here’s hoping to take part in Amazing Las Vegas Comic-Con in 2020!
