Asus announces cheap ultra-portable laptop

In the world of laptops, usually when we hear about ultra-portable ones, the price is usually anything but light. But today, Asus surprised everyone by announcing a very small laptop, with a new laptop with very basic specifications at a very affordable price. The Asus Eee comes with:

802.11b/g WiFi, Ethernet and a modem for connectivity, along with a webcam, 512MB of RAM and a 4, 8 or 16GB flash drive for speedy, reliable storage.

You’re probably thinking… what’s the point on getting a laptop with a drive that’s smaller than some iPods? Well, if I told you that the prices start from $200, then you’d probably start looking at it a bit differently. And yes, that really is cheaper than most iPods.
