Best Kickstarter Board Games - Q1 2015
We do love our board games, and while there are many ready-to-buy games out there, it’s always cool to find new ones which are not yet commercialized.
That’s where crowdfunding platforms come into the picture, as some of the most creative minds do come up with great ideas one would be willing to pay for (never mind the crappy ones; you just have to be patient and look around for the good stuff).
Today, we’re sharing with you the best Kickstarter board games that are ending in the next weeks or so. They cover different topics of interest, so you should find at least one that will make you want to be backer.
Ever dreamt of being a Viking? Not the cute How to Train Your Dragon type (not that I don’t love that movie), but more like the TV show Vikings telling the tale of Ragnar Lothbrok.
If so, this is the board game for you:
Blood Rage is a Viking board game created by acclaimed game designer Eric M. Lang. In this fast-paced yet highly strategic game, 2 to 4 players take control of Viking clans, invading, pillaging and battling in a quest to gain as much glory as possible before Ragnarök finally consumes the land!
Seriously, the miniature designs are wicked!
Let blood rage take over. Back the project below.
Ghostbusters™: The Board Game
Whether or not you like the idea of a female Ghostbusters cast, I’m pretty sure you’ll be interested in this board game.
Created by Cryptozoic Entertainment, the Ghostbusters board game is exactly what a fan will want to play on game night.
Ghostbusters: The Board Game is an episodic adventure game for one to four players, who are charged with busting ghosts and sealing gates to the Spirit World. The game is customizable, cooperative, and highly re-playable. It features unique illustrations and figures based on original artwork and designs by Dan Schoening, the artist of IDW’s Ghostbusters comic book series. Each Ghostbuster has a distinct role and unlocks unique abilities by gaining experience. The game offers modes for different levels of players, making it accessible to beginners and challenging to experts.
A sneak peek of what you’ll get as a backer (although there’s much more you get).
The project is almost over, so make sure you get in on the fun ASAP.
PlayMe : Alice in Wonderdice
Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland will never get old. From books to movies to animations – it’s always an enjoyable experience; and now, you can experience the masterpiece as a board game, too!
PlayMe: Alice in Wonderdice is a board game that plunges 2-6 players between dreams and reality. Become one of Wonderland’s characters and be the first to catch the White Rabbit. Use different strategies, challenging your reflexes and your tactical skills with fun and frantic dice rolls.
I do think this might be a good alternative for when tempers start flaring up over a game of Monopoly…How can it not with this design?
While there’s still almost a month to go, slots are filling up really, really fast so make sure you back it up now if you don’t want to go mad.
Grimslingers: A Card Dueling Game
How about a board game where everyone’s turn happens at once? That ought to provide some fast-paced entertainment, don’t you think?
Grimslingers brings you that experience in a sci-fi fantasy western setting. It really couldn’t get any better than this. The game requires 2-4 players and takes 20-40 minutes to complete. It’s appropriate for tweens up, so if you’re babysitting, you can whip this board game out.
What’s a board game without the perfect set of dice? And what’s the perfect set of dice if not Binary Dice?
There’s really no need to say more.
So which one do you like?
