Caine's Arcade Is a Cardboard Creation That Will Inspire You

Caine’s Arcade

Yesterday, I saw a video that made Monday a really inspiring day. You can’t say that of every Monday, can you?

Thanks to Reddit, a little boy named Caine got rewarded – big time – for his creative efforts. Caine is a 9-year-old boy from California, who built his own arcade from scratch. Using old pieces of cardboard, his toys, lots of tape, calculators, and tons of imagination, he created an entire arcade where people can actually play classic arcade games.

Caine is fortunate enough to have a very supportive father, who also happens to own a used auto parts store. He allotted the front part of the store for Caine’s Arcade, and a story was born.

It was not always good going for Caine. In fact, for a long time, no one went to play at Caine’s Arcade. That is, until filmmaker Nirvan Mullick happened to drop by. He was the first customer of Caine’s Arcade, and for a while, was the only customer. The filmmaker saw a gem in Caine, though. After all, how many 9-year-olds have the ingenuity, passion, and drive to actually set up an entire arcade, not to mention try to make a business out of it?

The filmmaker in Mullick would not be deterred, and he created a video which, understandably, became went viral. Again, hat tip to Redditors.

What probably started as something small for Caine has gone beyond his wildest imagination. Aside from the flash mob that graced Caine’s Arcade last year, the little boy’s project has expanded its reach to the rest of the world, with people drawing inspiration from Caine’s creations. Of course, the people of the Internet have a lot to do with the spreading of the word, but if videos of animals doing stupid things can get millions of views, I think Caine’s Arcade deserves more than that.

It’s something that awakens the human spirit and makes you feel that childlike faith in the world again. Here’s the original video that Mullick made, in case you have not seen it yet.
