Countdown #49 (DC) - Comic Review
Well we’re three weeks into Countdown and I have to say, I’m officially hooked. In addition to the engaging main story this week, we are also give “The History of the Multiverse – Part One” which is helping to flesh out the history of all of this for those that may not have been following DC Comics for the past 30 years.
I think I can officially say that everyone should be reading this book now. If you’re not a fan of comics, go grab the first 3 issues of Countdown, and I think you’ll be intrigued enough to keep coming back. I know I am. From the surprise way Jimmy gets out of the jam he was in last week (which I can’t wait to see explained) to the Monitors saying that that Supergirl, Karate Kid, Nightwing, Red Hood, Kyle Rayner, and Donna Troy all “walking the earth when they shouldn’t be”, the “Wax off” line, Piper’s attempt at being noble, and ultimately Mary’s predicament at the end of the issue, not a page is waisted, and I feel like I’m getting more story from Countdown in a week than most other titles do in a month…or two.
I don’t want to spoil the entire issue for you, but I do think you should pick it up. There is some cool stuff happening in this comic…and I think it’s just going to get better from here.
