CrossOver Mac: Run Windows Apps on Mac OS

Bootcamp is great and all, as you can now have a choice of operating systems to run on your snazzy new MacBook or MacBook Pro. But you still have to switch everytime you, say, want to run your favorite Windows-only MMORPG.

Fortunately, some people think running Windows apps within Mac OS is the way to go. And while Apple still has no plans of incorporating support for Windows-native applications into the next iteration of OS X (Leopard) or subsequent versions (insert-big-cat’s-name-here), CodeWeavers has announced just this. The creators of the CrossOver set of apps for for running Windows software on Linux has announced CrossOver Mac.

CrossOver Mac — CodeWeavers’ latest Windows-compatability product — is on its way. Intended for Intel Mac OS X machines, CrossOver Mac will allow Mac users to run their favorite Windows applications seamlessly on their Mac, without the need for a Windows OS license of any kind. Below are answers to some of the questions we are receiving on the product.

CrossOver Mac will cost $59.95. Small price for the ability to run Windows apps on Mac OS X.
