"Dark Tower" Movie Gets (Bad) Entertainment Weekly Cover
The Dark Tower is a series fans have been clamoring for an adaptation of for decades. Based on a Stephen King novel about a gunslinger that is set more in of a fantasy meets post apocalyptic wasteland than the old west (though many elements and influences of old westerns can be found throughout the story). It is a tale about a gunslinger and his desire to reach the Dark Tower (for reasons I shall keep shrouded). It is am amazing series of books, and nice to see The Dark Tower stars finally, side by side. Idris Elba will be playing the titular character, Roland, while Mathew McConaughey is set to play the antagonist, the man in black.
As you can see the charismatic duo landed the cover of the upcoming Entertainment Weekly to promote the film. But this begs another issue. Who is taking photos for the covers over at Entertainment Weekly? My God, it looks cheesy as hell if you are basing it on this photo. McConaughey looks about as intimidating as someone reaching for a wax apple in a bowl of fake fruit.
But I bet The Dark Tower movie will be badass, regardless of this cheesy cover. Entertainment Weekly, you should hire me to do you cover photos. Just saying. Stock blue background met with generic poses does not do this series (or actors, or characters) justice.
Sorry. Someone’s got to keep shit real around here. Also, lame Pokemon joke hidden on cover to cash in on popular fad. So sad.
