Desktop Tower Defense Creates Startup

So you take a flash game, its a simple concept, one done a few times before. You improve upon it, make constant updates of it, and get it out on the market. The game becomes a hit, and so you quit your regular day job to work on flash games full time?

Well that’s exactly what the creator of the Desktop Tower Defense game has gone and done.

Paul Preece, the designer of the wildly addictive Desktop Tower Defense has quit his day job and is teaming up with David Litsky; the designer of FlashElementTD to develop online games full time.

Desktop Tower Defense currently ranks at just over 6,000 on Alexa. According to a report at Gigaom the game had 4 million unique visitors on 20 million page views in April.

I never thought working on websites in regards to providing content would be my full time job, but here I am, but still, making Flash games full time seems a little strange. What do you think? Dream job, or short term fad?
