TechCrunch is reporting now that Digg 3.0 will be released on Monday June 26 sometime in the morning for those in Pacific Standard Time. They also got to talk to Jay Adelson and Kevin Rose in a podcast interview that you can get from TechCrunch.
In addition to a redesign (that retains the essential Digg â??experienceâ?), Digg is adding a number of news categories beyond technology. Topics are grouped into six â??containersâ?, including technology, entertainment, gaming, science, world & business, and online video. The default view on Digg is still the technology container, although users can change that view and can also deselect individual topics within containers to further refine what they see on the home page.
It is looking pretty good so far, but I am still unsure if people will really care as much about the other “containers” as they do the technology one.
