Ah, finally… a motorized webcam! I could think of several uses for this, but probably one of the most glaring ones would be to easily monitor from all angles. The Dlink DCS-1130 is the world’s first motorized camera allowing remote control from anywhere in the world… errr, online of course!

It is motorised for pan/tilt adjustment, wireless and can be controlled via a web browser. It can store videos on a PC, send it through the internet OR send it to 3G phones (now that means on-the-road monitoring). If you’re out for a movie and the babysitter is at home, guess who’s connected to your kids in real time… YOU!

If you look closely you’d see two ear-like appendages on top, that transmits wirelessly to your router. Yup this is a wireless device so no need to worry about long cables that’s just an eyesore in your beautiful home.

“Our new network camera offers an ideal solution for the home or small business, providing many features found in more costly surveillance systems, with powerful 802.11n Wi-Fi capability so customers have greater range and flexibility for installing cameras where coverage is needed,” said Steven Joe, president and CEO, D-Link Systems, Inc. in Fountain Valley, Calif. “The cameras also offer a user experience unmatched in the industry, enabling customers to quickly view and manage their cameras from a standard web browser with Internet connectivity.”
