Duke Nukem Forever Coming May 3rd

“When it’s done” is here. At last.

For years — more than a decade, in fact — that three-word phrase was always the answer for when we fans might finally get our grubby little fingers on the sequel to Duke Nukem 3D. Of course, we all know what happened during all that time. It’s a long, sordid story that involves Gearbox Software rescuing the game from original publisher 3D Realms’ bankruptcy, and frankly I’m tired of telling it.

All that matters now is that the game is finally coming, and its release date is now within sight. On May 3rd, North America will be able to purchase Duke Nukem Forever for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 (presumably for the standard triple-A title $59.99 price point), while the rest of the world gets it three days later on May 6th.

It goes without saying that Duke Nukem Forever is Rated M for Mature. The ratings card at the front of the game’s new trailer, which you can watch below, lists “blood and gore,” “intense violence,” “strong language,” “nudity,” strong sexual content,” and more among its colorful attributes. Heck, just this trailer should come with some kind of age gate.

You’re welcome.
