The headline alone should make any true gamer and fan of Bethesda go insane with excitement. We ARE getting a new Elder Scrolls game (much as we all suspected and prayed we would). Skyrim was an amazing game (something we pointed out again recently) and every new Elder Scroll game always brings something new to the table, so just the confirmation to PC GAMER that an Elder Scrolls 6 is being worked on as we write this is enough to set our minds adrift with memories of past Elder Scrolls games and pure awe at where we could possible go next. But before we get all excited, it cannot even be confirmed yet which generation of hardware it is for, with Bethesda’s main man Todd Howard grimly stating:
It’s a long way off.
Well, that is a tad bit upsetting after the good news, but as a huge fan of Bethesda, let me tell you why this IS a good thing. Some people had some complaints about Fallout 4. Bethesda is known for bugs and glitches in their massive games. Perhaps this is them learning from all that and ensuring the next Elder Scrolls game we get is as tight a game as we all deserve (and they are capable of making).
It may be a long ways away, but safe to assume the year it drops, Elder Scrolls 6 (insert awesome subtitle here) will be snagging up a lot of “Game of the Year” awards like it’s little brother did last time around.
