Last month, the online world (and hopefully the offline as well) was abuzz with the name of “the greatest geek who ever lived”: Nikola Tesla.
I am sure that there is a good number of people who actually observe – or at least make a note of – Nikola Tesla Day, which is July 10. However, thanks to The Oatmeal and its wonderful tribute to Nikola Tesla, one of the most brilliant minds to have ever graced this planet received tons of attention in the past weeks. If you still don’t think that Nikola Tesla is greatest geek who ever lived, then you probably have not seen this: Why Nikola Tesla was the greatest geek who ever lived.
Now The Oatmeal might be one of the most popular sites today, and they may love Nikola Tesla to death, but they are not alone in this. This may be the first time you hear of Tesla Productions, LLC, but that does not take away from the passion they have for Nikola Tesla. In fact, they are currently running a Kickstarter project to create a documentary film about the life story of the scientist-inventor.
The documentary is title “Electricity”. Simple yet so apt.
The write up of the project may not be as catchy as The Oatmeal’s, but one look at this image and quote is enough to convince me of how worthwhile it will be to help the documentary become a reality.
Here’s a video to give you more insight on the brilliant mind of Nikola Tesla.
The project has 17 days to go before the funding deadline, and they still have quite a long way to go. Why not give them a hand? If you can’t spare cash, just help spread the word!
