Flashbag USB Drive

Some people just think of everything! Just when you thought you’ve seen pretty much everything there is to see with USB flash drives, here comes the Flashbag! Remember how pissed off you get when you try to copy files into your USB drive, but suddenly get a “disk full” error message? Well, the Flashbag aims to solve all that. The drive expands and contracts according to how much data it contains.

The design is still in its conceptualization stages, though and I’m sure that at this point, people would have mixed reactions about the drive. For one thing, I think it’s pretty silly to have to use the thumbdrive’s size as a visual cue for free space. I’d have some difficulty fitting that one in my pocket in its expanded form. I’d rather have an OLED indicating the percentage of occupied space. But I guess it’s exciting to see the disk expand and contract as you add or delete data. I’m also pretty sure some people would find more creative and imaginative ways of using an expanding-contracting mechanism.
