Flock Browser Gets an Update (0.5.11)

By now, you’ve probably heard about the web broser, Flock. Flock is based off of Firefox and integrates various web services directly into the browser. Of course, the software is still in beta so there are still quite a few bugs that are left to be fixed. The latest updates are ones that were needed and I’m glad the developers were able to get it off of their checklist. Here are the best new features in my opinion:

1. Your Favorites, To Go – with Privacy
For each favorite, you can now choose to either store it online or keep it local. Better yet, Shadows lets you keep your online favorites private, so you can get your favorites from any computer without publishing them to the world. Shadows also stores your Flock collection structure. The net effect: if you’re using Shadows, you can get your favorites “to go.”

2. Import Firefox Settings
Flock 0.5.11 imports your bookmarks, passwords, cookies, etc. from Firefox and other browsers. Flock tags your imported bookmarks based on Firefox folder names, and lets you find them from the ol’ search box.

3. Technorati Topbar
Find out what people are saying about any web page that interests you. Follow conversations.
