Geekify Your Facebook Timeline Cover Photo with InstaCover

Got the new Facebook Timeline yet? Don’t worry if you don’t. I am sure you have not failed to notice that note saying that everyone will be getting the new Timeline by the end of this month. I have ranted about the Timeline in the past, but to be honest, I couldn’t care less now. In fact, the idea of playing around with the cover photo is not all that bad.

Of course, when it comes to customizing the cover photo, one would automatically think about geekifying it, wouldn’t one? After all, it is a great way of showcasing your geeky interests.

Enter InstaCover. This web service might look familiar to you, and rightly so. Not too long ago, Robin wrote about how you can geek up your Twitter profile using InstaBG, and the concept is basically the same, except this time, you work with the Facebook cover photo.

Using InstaCover, you have access to tons of photos taken using Instagram. Hate it or love it, Instagram does give you a way to make photos look more attractive – a very useful thing if you are using a camera that isn’t exactly top notch!

All that you need to do is to visit the InstaCover web site, where you will be asked to log in using Facebook. You do not have to register, nor do you have to pay. You do have to allow the app to access your Facebook account – just like most any other app out there.

Once you have logged in using your Facebook account and given access to InstaCover, you will be presented with the panel, where you can create a collage of Instagram photos following your specified theme. You can either indicate your Instagram ID (this limits the collage to your own photos), or you can use categories or tags to use other people’s Instagram photos.

That’s the panel where I have used “batman” as the tag, and below is the resulting cover photo.

Here’s another one, with the tag “zombies”.

My favorite, without a doubt.

True, there are one or two odd photos in the mix, but this should not be much of an issue if you use your own Instagram photos (provided you tag smartly as well).

If you are looking for a way to make your cover photo stand out more, InstaCover it!
