Google Maps Nighttime
A Georgia Tech student took the classic image of the the earth at night and combined it with Google Maps using the API to produce a nighttime and dusk version of Google Maps.
It’s kind of cool, although when you really zoom in on it, you can se where the map and the image are about 10-15 pixels out of alignment. It is especially noticeable if you look along the U.S. Gulf coast and see the New Orleans point of the map sitting on the wrong side of Lake Ponchatrain and Mobile, Alabama sitting a little too far away from Mobile Bay.
Cool none-the-less. It would be nice to have more zoom levels.
