Google WiFi Begins
Katie Fehrenbacher from GigaOm was invited this morning to try out Google’s WiFi in Mountain View and so far it is a thumbs up. There are still some kinks to be worked out, but Google will pin down most of them soon, I am sure.
I think Google’s WiFi project is interesting, but not the greatest. I am already seeing competition pop up from the normal ISP’s, as they try to get a piece of the pie.
So Iâ??m posting this from Rengstorff Park in Mountain View and the connection is pretty good: between 2 and 3 bars out of 4 on my Mac. Works well enough from here. I might drive around a bit and follow the nifty map that Google set up and update this post later. I wonâ??t divulge how to get onto the network, but trust me itâ??s a no-brainer, even though right now trusted testers canâ??t see the SSID number.
Who out there would be interested in Google’s WiFi?
