Hotline Miami Action Figures Are A Thing I Missed Last Week
I love Hotline Miami but this one slipped under my radar.
Last week on Kickstarter a new project popped up which was a collaboration by EscToy, Dennaton Games and Devolver Digital to seek funding to create 12″ replica figures of the main character from the Devolver Digital hit game ‘Hotline Miami’, the project was an instant hit after going viral and smashed it’s initial funding goal of $60,000 in less than 24 hours.
If you live under rock then you might not know what Hotline Miami is, it’s an 8-bit top down shooter that was release in 2012, the story is set in the late 80’s and involves your character receiving cryptic phone calls telling you to go to certain locations to ‘clean things up’ which usually involves you going on a murderous rampage with blunt instruments, knives, guns and other weapons, all while wearing animal based masks such as a pig or chicken. This is all to a modern day techno/dubstep soundtrack. It’s psychotic, it’s brutally violent and it’s awesome.
The figures are based on the main protagonist of the game simply called ‘Jacket’. They are 12′” tall and come with four changable heads based on the masks you can wear in the game: Tony (Tiger), Richard (Rooster), Aubrey (Pig), and a bloody, bandaged Jacket head (based on the hospital level for those of you who have played the game). The figure also comes with interchangeable clothing including a letter jacket, t-shirt, pair of jeans, Air Vigilante sneakers and a hospital gown. Three weapons – a shotgun, baseball bat, and katana – are included for Jacket to hold as he is posed using the 15 points of articulation.
There are multiple pledge levels with the lowest being $5 but the starting price point to get one of the figures is $75, this however has already sold out, the next pledge levels for this are $85 and $95 but the latter has sold out too so if you want to get hold of one of these then you need to be quick!

The single stretch goal they had set has already been passed several days ago and with 26 days still to go you can expect more stretch goals to be added soon.
The production and release date is set for spring 2015.
