I'm Foaming At the Mouth For BioShock Infinite
2K Games and Irrational Games have cranked up the hype machine for BioShock Infinite into overdrive, now that we’re just over a month away from the game’s arrival. (It just went gold!) Check out the latest vids and sound off on your anticipation level for the game!
At the end of last month, I showed you the first part of “Truth From Legend,” a faux 70s or 80s TV program that’s set in the world of BioShock Infinite. “Truth From Legend” attempts to sort out the facts from the myths regarding the history of the flying city Columbia — and what became of it after it disappeared. Here’s the second part of that series, which examines the mysterious creature known as the Songbird, which we gamers know to be Elizabeth’s watcher/warden. The vid reveals some tantalizing new details about the Songbird.
As if that wasn’t enough, Irrational Games then dropped a brand new trailer on us that focuses on Elizabeth and the questions surrounding just who and what she is. It’s called “Lamb of Columbia,” and proposes that Elizabeth is actually a messianic figure for the floating city. Don’t worry, there are no spoilers, but it pushes the mystery of Elizabeth much deeper than we’ve previously seen…
Hang on, I need a minute.
Okay. So. It’s not just me, right? I can’t be the only gamer standing a puddle of my own drool. Tell me I’m not the only one being kept awake at night, thinking about this game!
I love solid gameplay as much as the next gamer, but mix top-notch gaming with a highly original, intelligent story — one that doesn’t treat the story as the gameplay’s ugly step sister-slash-necessary evil — and I ascend straight to nerdvana. Watching these trailers and reading about BioShock Infinite already has me halfway there.
Why isn’t it March 26th yet? Seriously, somebody invent time travel — I can’t wait that long!!!
