Game Over, Bikers. This Jurassic T-Rex Tricycle Just Won the Day

My daddy left home when I was three
And he didn’t leave much to ma and me
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.
Now, I don’t blame him cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that he ever did
Was before he left, he went and named me “Sue.”
-Johnny Cash, A Boy Named Sue

Johnny Cash’s Sue may have hated his name, but this Jurassic T-Rex tricycle with the same name surely thinks differently. Or not.

Sue is a for real Jurassic T-Rex tricycle created by an actual bike engineer who is obviously a fan of Jurassic Park – or perhaps dinosaurs in general.

Don’t be quick to laugh at this 12-foot-long, 8.5-foot-tall art bike. It’s so crazy it’s actually awesome!

You don’t agree? Well, Sue’s creator decided to sell her (bad, bad father!) on Craigslist for $2,000. WTF, right? I mean, you don’t sell your baby. And certainly not for only a couple of grand.

Seriously, though, Sue is an engineering marvel.

Her skeleton is made of chromoly steel, which Google says “is a range of low alloy steels used, for example, to produce tubing for bicycle frames and race-car roll cages. It is not as lightweight as aluminum alloys, but has the advantages of high tensile strength and malleability.” The frame is covered in foam and textured paint, making it look like a real dinosaur skeleton.

As tall as Sue is – the seat is five feet high – you’ll need a ladder to ride her. Alternative, there are hand/foot holds on the left side. Perhaps even Tyrion Lannister can have fun with Sue.

And who cares if you have to exert some effort getting up there? Once seated, you can make Sue shake her head, wave, and even gnash her teeth. That’s sure to give you some cred.

Not sure if they trike is road legal, especially with its top speed at 15 mph, although its creator says the “comfortable” speed is 7 mph.

Then again, you can always go to the local park or mall parking lot to show Sue off. Take that, souped up cars!
