KDE4 Beta screenshots

KDE is one of the most popular desktop environments for Linux, so popular, that it’s led Ubuntu developers to create a “separate” version of Ubuntu using it (the “original” one uses Gnome). KDE developer, Stephan Binner, recently released a new Live CD of the fourth iteration of the program that not only tries to make the system look better, but also introduces a few new features like Widgets, bringing it closer to the modern interfaces of Operating Systems like Vista or Mac OS X.

The Konqueror browser still has a few issues rendering some elements properly, but I reckon that those should be solved by the time this comes out. Overall, this seems like a nice upgrade, but a bit too Vista-like for my taste. If you’d like to see more pictures of KDE4 you can visit the original article.
