King Down Hits Funding Target In Under 24 Hours

Blood. Greed. Glory. Honor. A game of Kings…and a prequel to chess?
This is how Saar Shai leading the team behind the game pitches ‘King Down’ anyway and it looks like his pitch has impressed some people as they have just raced past their funding target of $50,000 USD in less than 24 hours!
From the four corners of the land come four pretenders to the throne, each claiming to be the rightful heir. As the four would-be Kings march towards the capitol, they gather their armies, preparing for battle.
King Down is a fantasy table-top strategy game where each player chooses a king, hand picks their army and then goes into battle against the other King players and their armies. The game is described as a prequel to chess and just like in chess you have the usual pieces of a King, Queen, Knight, Rook, Bishop and pawns but instead of mundane traditional playing pieces you use highly detailed fantasy miniatures. The game is played using not just the pieces but also spell and tactic cards including a special type of playing mechanic invented by Saar called ‘double-edged cards’.
The playing pieces have been created in conjunction with experienced 3D animators Dream Catcher and Saar already has established relationships with four manufacturers as well as having two other successful Kickstarter campaigns under his belts so pledges are all in safe hands.
The starting pledge for the full game is $63 but that has already sold out, the next one starts at $65 but already 396 have been taken so if you want to get in on this game you had better be quick!
King Down will be running on Kickstarter until Ocotber 12th
