Kokoro Connect Coming This Summer

By Nopy

One of the more anticipated anime series coming out this summer is called Kokoro Connect. Based on a light novel written by Sadanatsu Anda, the story focuses on the 5 members of a high school culture club (2 male and 3 female) that somehow end up swapping bodies. While a few of the problems that present themselves when people of opposite genders swap bodies are expected to be in the anime, the main focus is on comedy and romance.

The series is being produced by Enterbrain and co-directed by Shinya Kawamo (.hack//Gift, Ginyuu Mokushiroku Meine Liebe Wieder) and Shin Oonuma (ef – a tale of memories, Tasogare Otome x Amnesia). Performance of the opening theme song “Paradigm” is being done by Eufonius while the ending theme song “Kokoro no Kara” is being done by Team Nekokan.

Fans of K-ON will be pleased to know that the original character designs for Kokoro Connect were done by the same person that did the designs for K-ON, Yukiko Horiguchi. Aki Toyosaki, the voice actress for Yui in K-ON is also playing the role of Iori Nagase, the president of the culture club. Other voice actors include Takahiro Mizushima playing the role of Taichi Yaegashi, Miyuki Sawashiro playing the role of Himeko Inaba, Takuma Terashima playing the role of Aoki Yoshifumi, and Hisako Kanemoto playing the rolf of Yui Kiriyama.

There has been no announcement on how long the anime will run. Considering the light novel is still ongoing, the anime probably will not go beyond one season before taking a break. Kokoro Connect is scheduled to begin airing on July 7.
