LEGO Amon Hen
Lord of the Rings fans: prepare to be wowed. Blake Baer and Jack Bittner recreated the ruins of Amon Hen (where the final battle in Fellowship of the Rings takes place) entirely out of LEGO bricks, with a stunning level of detail.
It took 20,000 LEGO pieces and about 23 working hours to create this incredible MOC. Made up of 6 sections that fit together like a puzzle, Baer and Bittner’s Amon Hen weighs about 75 pounds total. It includes the ancient ruins, any number of Uruk-Hai, the members of the Fellowship, the watchtower where Frodo sees his vision (here it’s where Aragorn fights), a gorgeous waterfall made entirely of clear pieces, the campsite where the Fellowship comes ashore from the river, Frodo and Sam’s escape via the river, a bridge, and hundreds of fantastic little details.
LEGO Amon Hen was displayed at BrickFair in early August, so some of the details take artistic license to allow visitors the best vantage point. Here are some of my favorite close-up images from the build, but you can see more than 50 more at Baer’s MOCpage.
